Butterfly Ball 2008
On Friday the 16th of May the DEBRA Ireland Butterfly Ball took place at the Mansion House, Dublin, and was certainly a night to remember for all our guests who attended.
This year’s Ball was dedicated to the memory of Patti Lynch who sadly passed away in July 2007.
Following special permission from the Lord Mayor of Dublin, we were allowed to use the magnificent Oak Room for our Champagne reception. Guests were greeted by Chairman of DEBRA Ireland, Rosemary Keogh and. CEO, Margaret Webb. Special guests included the crowned couple of Celebrity Jigs'n'Reels, Gavin ó Fearraigh and Dearbhla Lennon, as well as DEBRA Ireland’s Patron, RTE Presenter, Miriam O’Callaghan and best selling author Marisa Mackle.

At 8:00pm, guests made their way through to the impressive Round Room through a tree lined wonderland adorned with a range of colourful butterflies. In the Round Room, guests were greeted to stunning butterflies hanging from the ceiling and balcony; each gentleman received a very special momentum of the Butterfly Ball in the form of a an exclusively designed Butterfly Tie, courtesy of Louis Copeland, while each lady received a beautiful necklace set, kindly provided by Pilgrim.
All were warmly welcomed to the momentous 2008 Butterfly Ball by our fantastic host for the evening, Mr. Ronan Collins. Having enjoyed a mouth watering meal, guests were treated to a special insight into DEBRA Ireland given by, Chairman, Rosemary Keogh; DEBRA Ireland patron, Miriam O’Callaghan and our very special speaker Robert O’Neill.
Following the speeches, Ronan Collins got the after dinner events off to a flying start with the Live Auction. DEBRA Ireland would like to thank all those who kindly supported the different activities throughout the night. The Camembert Quartet had the dance floor thronged from the first strum of their guitars with guests dancing the night away to their spectacular performance.
Congratulations to Ms Margaret Tallon, who was our winner of our special Chocolate Box Raffle and won two flights to Abu Dhabi courtesy of Etihad Airlines.
Photos of this memorable event are currently available to buy on www.lensmen.ie with a percentage of each purchase going to DEBRA Ireland.
