Allan is competing in the race in support of Debra Ireland and we are extremely proud of him and wish him all the best in this extremely tough challenge.
Anyone who will sponsor a kilometre of Allan's journey will get an access to training videos and travel blog that will detail some of his obscure training/torture sessions. Huge thanks must to be given to all the staff in Hasbro Ireland based in Waterford who throughout 2011 has tirelessly fundraised to raise €28,000 for various different charities. Staff gave of their time and energy through out the year to raise the funds including specially designing and selling Christmas wrapping paper, greetings cards and a specially commissioned commemorative jigsaw to celebrate the Tall Shops coming to Waterford during the summer. We can not thank all those involved enough for what they have done. Everyone in DEBRA Ireland is delighted to receive the €5,000 that they so kindly gave to us.
On behalf of DEBRA Ireland we would like to say a huge thank you to Myles Campion, Bill Roberts and Greg Sunderland who undertook a mammoth task last April by undertaking 10 first time ascents of mountains previously unclimbed in Greenland.
One of the mountains which they climbed was named after us – Mount DEBRA!! Nearly €7,500
Was raised for us and articles appeared in several papers including the Irish Times.
Thanks must go to all those who kindly donated and State Street International (Ireland) Ltd a,d Russell Investment who gave so generously. We would also like to thank Harvey Norman who supported Myles by placing DEBRA Ireland Collection Boxes in all of their stores!!
