DEBRA Ireland (the Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association) was set up
by families of children with EB in 1988. We are funded by donations, fundraising
and grant support.
DEBRA Ireland has worked for, and supported the development of the EB Liaison Nurse
Service, now established at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children and St James's Hospital.
Ongoing support to the nursing and medical care of patients is a high priority.
Medical research is the key to finding an effective treatment for EB. DEBRA Ireland
funds medical research programmes in Trinity College, Dublin, and co-funds the DEBRA Ireland - dEBra UK Cancer In EB Campaign.
General support, respite holidays, information and advice is provided to patients
and their families.
