1 in 18,000 newborn babies are affected by EB in Ireland
Over 500,000 people have EB worldwide.
DEBRA Ireland was set up in 1988 to give hope to the many families affected by EB.
Fundraising and donations are vital so that DEBRA Ireland can fund patient services and research into finding an effective treatment. It is our dream that individuals with EB will not have to experience the extreme pain of this debilitating condition. Thanks to your support we may sooner, rather than later have a treatment that will help patients and their families, thereby moving one step closer to making this dream come true.
DEBRA Ireland currently funds seven research projects into Wound Healing, Skin Cancer and Healing Therapies.
€25 will pay for one hour for one of these research projects.
DEBRA Ireland pays €1,366 each day to ensure this invaluable work continues and that we will one day find a cure for EB.
DEBRA Ireland also funds patient support.
It costs €45 a day for patient’s bandages and medication.
DEBRA Ireland supports the national EB Service for children in Our Lady’s Hospital, Crumlin and for adults in St James Hospital.
DEBRA Ireland assists with respite support for those living with EB.
With your help we can move one step closer to finding an effective treatment and ultimately a cure for this debilitating condition. Whatever you can raise will make a difference in the life to those with EB.
